Situated outside Donegal Town, at the foot of the Blue Stack mountains, Lough Eske Castle is always an impressively grand venue and it didn’t disappoint for Samantha and Aaron’s big day. Their flower-festooned outdoor ceremony was officiated by Catriona Doherty, with the very talented Arco String Quartet providing a beautiful classical music accompaniment that perfectly matched the fairy-tale vibe Sami was going for!

The castle’s picturesque walled garden and 19th-century frontage provided a stunning canvas for photography and its gravel paths are wonderful to stroll around – even in the midst of some pretty heavy downpours! That said, I’m sure the bridal party were happy to return to the warmth and shelter of Lough Eske’s ballroom, where plenty of evening activities – from Crazy Vegas casino to the brilliant Funk ‘N’ Disorderly band – awaited them. A shout out to the American contingent, whose breakdancing that evening was unrivalled and congratulations to Sam and Noxy, the new Mr and Mrs Donaghey!
